Pittsburgh Produced Indie Horror Film Invades the Web this Halloween

"Fetish Dolls Die Laughing" Debuts at Killer Film Fest Online

When you were a kid, did you ever encounter “The Tickle Monster”? It was a seemingly innocent little game that our parents played with us at bedtime to tire us out and help us fall asleep. Well, little did we know then that the Tickle Monster was much more real—and much more malicious—than our parents worst nightmares…

At least, that’s the conceit at the heart of the new independent horror film Fetish Dolls Die Laughing, which debuts October 29, 2011, at the Killer Film Fest in Somerville, Massachusetts. But horror aficionados don’t need to drive all the way to Massachusetts just to see it. Dolls… will premiere via the world wide web as part of the Killer Film Fest’s online festival.

“Somehow, it seems appropriate for a film with the internet as its backdrop to make its debut online,” says director David Silvio, whose Pittsburgh-based company, Kiss of Death Productions, produced the film, along with Pittsburgh-based z-Diet-3 Productions (which performed editing and post-production work) and Theatre of the Night (which provided production assistance).

In the film, a hardened homicide detective (played by former Pastor Greg star Laura Romeo) investigates a series of grisly murders. Her investigation ultimately leads her to a seedy fetish photographer (played by Michael McGovern, also the film’s screenwriter) who, it turns out, is possessed by a malevolent spirit–the Tickle Monster! Rounding out the regular cast are Pittsburgh actors Angelo Bruni, Aaron Bernard, Kimberly Naim, Antietam (ne: Heather Berhosky), Tiffany Apan, and Diana Silvio, also the film’s producer. Josh Loughery, a Pittsburgh-based musician, provided the film’s eerie score, with songs also contributed by Jason English.

Fans can watch Fetish Dolls Die Laughing online from October 29 to November 2 for free by registering at the Killer Film Fest Online site: www.killerfilmfest.com/online.html. Registration also gives users free access to other film blocks that can be viewed at various times between October 24 and November 4.

Although Fetish Dolls Die Laughing takes its initial bow on the internet, fans will also be able to purchase DVDs of the film (loaded with extra features) next year when it’s released by World Wide Multi Media.
