Marie Buckner, of Marie's Flute, is pleased to announce the release of her new recording titled “Loving Those Old Time Sing-A-Longs.”

After entertaining for more than 40 years, Marie Buckner noticed that her audiences loved listening to, and singing along with, tunes dating back to the 1800's. Known as “campfire sing-a-longs” by some, these songs are pure fun and innocence at its best.

Marie was surprised how many people had not heard a solo flute outside of the symphony orchestra setting. “One time I got done playing a beloved Irving Berlin tune and a lady came up to me. With a puzzled expression, she said, “I didn't know the flute could play “Always”.” That wasn't the first time I heard comments along those lines. It never occurred to me that people were so unfamiliar with the flute, since I've been playing the instrument for so long and just took it for granted,” Marie says. So, she thought it would be fun to put some tunes together and make a CD available for sale.

“Loving Those Old Time Sing-a-longs” contains over 15 fun songs, all played flute ala carte – meaning no accompaniment. Songs include “Alouette”, “Red River Valley”, “Give My Regards To Broadway” and “Clementine”. Tracks contain introductions, some history and briefings about the intricacies of the flute.
