The author's knowledge of Assam is apparent in her novel. “I grew up in Assam and with my father in judicial service who got transferred from one district to another, I’ve seen a lot of life in the state.” says Dr. Suravi. “Once I was out of the state for work and studies, I realized that the beauty of the land, the life and culture of the state were unique in its own way, and deserved to be written about.”

About Dr. Suravi Sharma Kumar

Suravi Sharma Kumar is a doctor by profession but has always been fascinated by the world of literature. What inspired her to write this book was the fact that most of ‘mainland’ India is still unfamiliar with the country’s Northeast and is unaware of its innate beauty. This is her first book and is based on her research and experiences in the valley.
