05/25/2013– Stratford Arts Guild Expands “Art In The Alley” Event

Stratford, CT, August 20, 2012 – The Stratford Arts Guild will host “Art in Paradise Alley 8,” an art show and sale featuring Guild members and regional exhibitors on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Paradise Green, Stratford.

Due to high visitor traffic and demand, the Guild is expanding the show’s hours and will hold the event in the Paradise Green Alley, located between Clough’s Hardware and Paradise Pizza, Stratford.

The September art event, says Roger Salls, Stratford Arts Guild president, will be the first ‘expanded’ Saturday show. “Visitors can expect to have even more Guild members exhibit this year, with artists ranging from painters, photographers, jewelry makers and more,” Salls says. “This year’s show is shaping up to be our biggest ever.”

This year’s event has expanded to include music, food, and more outdoor activities in addition to having the largest array of artists showing their work.

The Stratford Arts Guild has issued a Call for Artists, and is accepting exhibitor applications through September 12, 2012. The Guild welcomes applications from local artists and encourages interested Connecticut or regional artists to apply. Future Guild members are asked to submit samples of their work before being accepted for exhibition. Contact the Guild for a review of your portfolio.

The Guild’s “Art in the Alley” events are held in intimate outdoor venues which encourage artists and visitors to engage in conversation about media, concept, and process in creating the works. This is the Guild’s eighth “Art in the Alley” event in the last two years.
