05/22/2013– New Book - White Men Make the Best Lovers

Author Flora Pickett-Coley is a native of Florida. Raised in a Christian family, Flora is the 7th of 13 children born to Theodore and Pauline Pickett of Eastman, Georgia.She was presented with the “Editor’s Choice Award” May 2006, August 2006, August 2007 and January 2008 for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry by poetry.com and the International Library of Poetry. She holds an Associate in Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Broward Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University. With plans to attend Nova Southeastern University Shepard Law School, it was no surprise that she would make straight ‘A’s in each of her Law courses at FAU. She has a great love for creative writing. She has been writing since 4th grade when she wrote her first screen play. Recognized as one of International Library of Poetry most talented poets earned her an extraordinary honor in The International Who’s Who in Poetry. She has written numerous screen plays, poetry and books. Although she has been encouraged by her college professors to publish her work, this would be her first published book. Flora was nominated by National Poetry Month as a 2006 Poetry Ambassador. She is often called upon by family, friends and coworkers to aid them in their writing endeavors. Flora is a leader and an innovator. You will often hear her catchy one line phrases throughout her work. As her family and friends know, she coined the phrase “It is, what it is” meaning Fact is Fact. This phrase was coined because she absolutely hates deception. As she often would say, just be honest, tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

"White Men Make The Best Lovers" is a very fast paced, easy-reading story about Danielle __ a young, black attorney and her impressions of the men she has dated, or should date. Her opinions and those of her best friend, Jessica, are insightful and at times hilarious, but true. Through their eyes we see the different men they have met and how they feel about them. Surely, everyone has met some of these types. The romantic scenes she describes are easy to picture and steamy! Flora Pickett-Coley has a way with words that makes the reader understand the family values and relationships that Danielle and her colleagues and friends have encountered in their lives. As you get to know each character, sometimes you cheer for one, later rooting for another. The twists of the story make this book a page turner that you won't want to put down.
